Restaurant Genie is a family-built food matchmaker for real nearby restaurants. We keep the app simple: no accounts, no ad tracking, and no sale of personal data.

What the app collects

• Anonymous device identifier. The app creates a random identifier and stores it in your device Keychain. We use it to remember your preferences, check-ins, corrections, and group lobby activity without requiring an account.
• Precise location for nearby results. When you search or ask for a recommendation, the app sends your current latitude and longitude to our API so we can find restaurants near you. We do not store location history or link location requests to a real-world identity.
• Preferences, check-ins, and corrections. If you like, dislike, skip, check in to, or correct a restaurant, we store that action against the anonymous device identifier.
• Group lobby choices. When you create or join a group lobby, we store the lobby code, anonymous member IDs, display names entered in the app, preferences, and votes long enough to run the lobby.

How we use data

We use location to return nearby restaurants, preferences to sharpen recommendations, check-ins to avoid stale picks, corrections to improve restaurant data, and lobby votes to make a group decision. We do not use this data for advertising or cross-app tracking.

What stays on your device

The anonymous identifier is generated on your device and saved in Keychain. The app does not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, or payment information.

No accounts, tracking, or sale

Restaurant Genie has no user accounts, no third-party advertising trackers, and no data sale. We do not use the data we collect to track you across apps or websites.
